Pros

Nice new office in MA

Cons

I worked for CMTA from 01/19 to 12/19. CMTA acquired the firm which I worked for 6-½ years (a 35 year-old firm) I experienced a loss in benefits compared to the previous benefits package, then some new management was incorporated in the office, from corporate, and along came the traditional hierarchy management or autocratic style, which was a big impact for many. More projects, more work to the office, and so came long hours of work. After almost a year, I decided to give my resignation, in which a gave four weeks of notice, I had two major project deadlines, I didn’t want to leave the team hanging and I wanted the transition to be a smooth one. At the end of the third week and just minutes after finishing the biggest deadline I was asked to leave, by new management, with the excuse that I didn’t have a lot of work left..., I still had a deadline to meet and the transition of my projects. I was asked not to say goodbye to my colleagues, I was asked not to attend the Christmas party which was scheduled for the following day, I didn’t receive any severance pay for the fourth week that I had planned to work, and coincidentally I wasn’t able to collect the Christmas bonus which is based on office performance and was distributed the following week. I was "kicked out" as if I had committed a crime by resigning. I did not get paid for unpaid wages and vacation on the day of employment termination, which is a violation of the MA Wage act, after several days and a complaint to the Attorney General’s office, I was able to collect a payment (no bonus, no severance). The two managers that terminated my employment took my resignation very personal. I can understand being upset when you lose a good, responsible and productive employee (and these are words from management in pass yearly reviews), but to treat an employee at that level is a complete disappointment. I was trying not to burn bridges, but they incinerated it.
