      Pros

      1. Descent company with average benefits 2. Reasonable work/life balance

      Cons

      1. Consultant versus Permanent dilemma: In theory, consultants are supposed to be around for 2 years max and they should work in the areas where they have expertise! In reality, they stay for long periods of time, they do not have any specific expertise in many cases and they become "permanent consultants" with way higher salaries. 2. Permanent salaries are on the lower end of the market. 3. All the internal moves are considered lateral moves: Architects, Analysts, Developers, Integrators, Designers and Testers are all considered the same grade.

      Pros

      Pays decently well for first job out of college. My manager and team are very reasonable with expectations placed on new hires. Working after office hours (past 4:30pm) is extremely rare and only expected in emergencies.

      Cons

      Very slow and/or limited job growth potential. Promotions into middle management are almost purely based on reputation with middle managers who are largely people with previous field experience. This is very disadvantageous to direct-from-college hires like myself and even my current manager.
