Pros

I have been at CNA for over 10 years. I am not a researcher, but instead am in a part of the organization that helps support the researchers and work we do at CNA. There have been quite a few changes since I started here, but what has not changed is the passion that our people have for their work and for each other, and the desire to "get it right". I have been lucky enough to work with very intelligent and talented people within and outside my department that have pushed and challenged me (sometimes beyond my comfort zone), and as a result have grown in ways I didn't think I would. I have been allowed to try new things and have seen some of my ideas implemented during my time here, which is a pretty neat feeling. Our researchers get that same opportunity, but the difference is that their ideas have national and international impact on people and government policies. I am in awe of the importance of the work that they do everyday. CNA has deep roots and it is exciting to see the mix of historical and new ideas being brought to life in support of public service.

Cons

I mentioned that I work with very intelligent people that are passionate about "getting it right". The trouble is that everyone has a different idea about what "right" is, and so we sometimes find ourselves in "analysis paralysis" mode. Too much time is spent looking at all the different options (some of which are very creative), and not enough time is spent getting to decision, communicating it and implementing it.

Cons

Good morning! I wanted to write a post on my experience with the company Center for Naval Analyses | National Security Analysis (CNA) CNA Corporation. I was hired for a part time position on the weekends to do security and attended my orientation and was terminated the following day. I received a call stating that I was not a great fit for the company because I did not eat lunch with them due to me having to go back to my full time job. They also stated that I did not participate in the orientation and from my understanding during an orientation you are listening... I feel as though I was wrongfully terminated because I asked was it ok for me leave and I was told yes by the Orientation instructor. I never experienced anything like this in my life. I'm not sure if this is the way that this company normally handles things but I was extremely disappointed.
