Pros
-Shortages on other teams allowed me to get experience on different roles -Sometimes there wasn't much to do so the work was pretty easy and most days I got off at 5 pm or earlier -The team was very friendly and supportive. My direct manager in particular was very attentive to my needs and checked in with me at least once a week -Lots of support for getting exams studied for and passed -Good 401k match and they also match your charitable contributions -Got a raise at the end of the year in addition to exam pass raises. I hear that some firms don't do this
Cons
-The work was pretty boring overall and didn't inspire me to take on additional responsibilities -They say you can get a bonus up to X%, but then they say that nobody ever is rated that high and that 3/5 is baseline which corresponds to half of X% -High turnover in the department means positions shuffling around frequently. Disruptions in work due to certain events that occurred last year, instability in general -Not enough people to answer my questions sometimes -Overall, I feel like I didn't learn as much as I would have liked over a year into my career -5 year vesting schedule for retirement contributions, 2 year payback for the move bonus
