Pros

Excellent work life balance. Easy to get time off when you want it. I rarely ever stay late - which is nice. I like most of the people. They are fun to be around. It's pretty cool to work at place that is so important to the community.

Cons

As you may have seen on the news - management sucks. The "good ole boy" system is well and alive at CPS Energy. If you are female, it's hard to get promoted. If you aren't from Austin Energy, CP&L, or some other utility one of the executives are from - you just can't get promoted. This will change soon. A new CEO is due mid-2010. This should change all the dynamics. Currently, there are no raises, bonuses, or promotions at CPS Energy. Not sure when they will be reinstated. Please note – don’t believe everything you read or see on TV about CPS Energy.
