Pros
The people at CRB are wonderful. CRB's focus on company culture drives an atmosphere of camaraderie. Collaboration towards project goals is refreshing. Being an engineering and construction company working in some of the most advanced industries, CRB is a repository of intelligence. You would think this could be intimidating, but it’s not. It’s great that regardless of level, every member of the project teams are encouraged to provide input and feedback. There is also a recognition that no one is perfect and there are allowances for that without degradation. There are many opportunities for growth either through growing expertise or participating in any of the many CRB initiatives. While CRB employees work hard, we also get to play and we get to volunteer to give back to the community. There are company social events every month and project specific events frequently. Frequently there are groups of CRB team members who compete in athletic events. Amenities within the office are nice. Snacks, drinks, parties and many, many, many meals are provided. Work spaces are comfortable. Covid put the CRB regular office routine on hold. It’s nice that the transition to working from home was smooth. Still, with the culture at CRB most team members are eager to get back to the office.
Cons
There are peaks and valleys in work effort and hours driven by project deadlines. A couple of times a year it can be exhausting. Fortunately the leadership team tracks project timelines to level the effort as much as possible. Also, because CRB is constantly managing change, procedures change constantly. Sometimes procedures are moving targets and implementation can have too many hands in the pot. For the most part the turmoil settles down within a few weeks.
