Pros

overtime is mandatory, will supplement your poor pay. Working outdoors during the winter, enjoying the beautiful vitamin D, and getting a tan.

Cons

Growth from the laborers/production level is almost nonexistent. Wage increase this year with the union contract, was $0.10, all the while the union increased the health costs for all employees which exceeded the "raise," so these guys are actually taking home less money with every raise. Poor working conditions, upper management does not allow purchase of required tools to do the job. Safety is number one, but only until recently is it becoming serious and the floor guys really don't care about safety. management preaches it every day, and the quality of workers there just don't care, because they don't get paid enough.

Pros

Overall, it’s a really good company—probably some of the best benefits in the industry, and that’s one of the main reasons I chose to work here.

Cons

My advice to anyone considering it: be careful about the promises you’re made during the hiring process. Make sure everything is put in writing, and make sure it’s exact—your position, job description, responsibilities, and what is expected of you. Things can change. If the person who hired you leaves or moves on, the person who replaces them may see things differently and change everything. That can include doing away with the position you were hired for and moving you into a completely different role—one you may have never left your previous job to take in the first place.
