Pros

Fun to interact with the customers, most team members are fun and helpful.

Cons

No training. I was essentially given a 20 minute spiel about the do's and the don'ts and then turned out on my own. It's sink or swim, I guess. In order to compensate for the lack of training you are encouraged to ask questions. YET...when you ask questions you are told that they can't answer that you need to figure it out on your own, or "use your head." I only worked two shifts then I quit. The first one was horrible but I figured the next day was bound to be better. Second day was ten times worse than the first! I'm no dummy and could see the writing on the wall with this job. I felt like I was in basic training. If you like to be abused....go to work at Crossmark in Champaign, IL. You will be sent out on the sales floor to work an event with NO training whatsoever, be expected to do everything right or you will get your hands slapped, and be on the floor within 15 minutes (including loading your cart, gathering your cooking supplies, familiarizing yourself with the products you are selling that day, giving your greet, tell, and sell to a sales lead, then pushing your cart out to where you will set up, gathering any product you will need off the sales floor, setting up your cart, plugging in, sanitizing your cart, preparing your product, preparing your presentation area and then having your samples ready to hand out) and then off the floor also within 15 minutes (all off the above in reverse PLUS washing, rinsing, and sanitizing your cooking equipment, dishes, utensils, etc. and completing the required paperwork). It's a complete joke and I'm surprised they can keep any employees for any length of time. I'd rather work for minimum wage and not have all the stress and pressure. Not to mention that you have one true boss but the leads can also tell you what to do as well as the Sam's Club managers.

Pros

No pros working at crossmark

Cons

an honest example of your day, we will pay you for 15 minutes to run up to a Walmart. For that 15 minutes we will expect you to read instructions for any new changes, run in and check in with a manager, find our product, count our products exactly, go to the back room and find our products (which is by far the longest step), count our products in the back exactly, bring our products to the front of the store, take pictures and answer questions, remove all old products, stock by date, take pictures and answer questions. If this takes you 25-30 minutes, which is probably a more accurate accounting, we will still only pay you for 15. If you are lucky there may be another job that day, but if not you will be expected to waste your gas, drive to the Walmart that we demanded, and work that 15 minute job alone. In that case we will be demanding that you take an hour out of your day for $3.00.
