Pros

-Straightforward tasks. 85% of the time all event setup's follow a rigid pattern with little deviation. And even then, it is not too much of a common occurrence. -Pleasant helpful supervisors and co-workers. The people I have worked under and alongside have been utter hero's in helping me to hit the ground and running from day one. -Opportunities for job ascension. If you stick with the program and push to finish training and special tasks, there is indeed opportunities offered for higher positions with associated benefits. -Pleasant Customer engagement. If you are an introvert, this job is a nice gateway to bringing you out of your shell and learn to engage with people in a public setting. Great way to learn to how to greet, meet, learn small talk, and "fine-tune" your attitude and behavior in a more positive manner.

Cons

-Constant rule shifting. The "Higher ups" feel compelled to rewrite the handbook every month with new rules and guidelines to follow. Most are redundant and only serve to complicate an already strenuous job procedure. (We have had to change what type of container our safety gloves are stored in three times within a month and a half for no real particular reason. They're gloves, and they are kept in a box till they're needed. What need's to change?) -Often disorganized. Every work day your begin your shift like a chicken with its head cut off. It is often a scramble to get needed paperwork, utensils, cleaning supplies, and food items as you are technically "on the clock" to get out to the store floor. Every day is a gamble to find what has actually been prepped or how many hoops to jump through just to find a pen to sign your name on a timesheet -End of shift work hours are reported through problematic smartphone apps that NEVER like to function -Insufferable Customer engagement. 90% of customers are wonderful. But there are bad cookies out there. Those beyond rude to you and other store customers. Such as if you offer something they dislike, at best they wave at you and walk away with barely a glance. At worst they act as God's disciple and will proceed to lecture you on the product, everything wrong with it, and basically imply you are a horrible human being for being associated with such items and by simply existing.

Cons

an honest example of your day, we will pay you for 15 minutes to run up to a Walmart. For that 15 minutes we will expect you to read instructions for any new changes, run in and check in with a manager, find our product, count our products exactly, go to the back room and find our products (which is by far the longest step), count our products in the back exactly, bring our products to the front of the store, take pictures and answer questions, remove all old products, stock by date, take pictures and answer questions. If this takes you 25-30 minutes, which is probably a more accurate accounting, we will still only pay you for 15. If you are lucky there may be another job that day, but if not you will be expected to waste your gas, drive to the Walmart that we demanded, and work that 15 minute job alone. In that case we will be demanding that you take an hour out of your day for $3.00.
