Pros
Can offer flexible scheduling Reliable weekly pay Lateral movement opportunities
Cons
Week after week of my life is eaten up by demands that I do this or that seven days a week for only ten hours a week of pay. Becomes unbearable constantly hearing that you MUST do whatever they want you to do. Office employees can't resist constantly playing head games with field reps. While there's no excuse for any project that gets assigned you to go un-executed, large amounts of projects are unassigned just to decrease our hours, also decreasing execution rates and billable time, which are supposed to be the foremost concern. But obviously execution and other performance statistics, as well as billing for services, are secondary to making sure the field reps know their place. Rules are made to be broken! Agreements are completely one-sided - ignored until they twist them to use against you. Their "method" of managing employees is condescending, scapegoating and using clever conversational tricks.
