Pros
I have a hard time trying to pick out the pros of working as a cashier here, the most I could give is that you have the opportunity to meet new people.
Cons
The workload is much heavier, I had a manager tell me that CVS was the worst pharmacy to work at because corporate cuts corners to make more money. My store crowds all of our kiosks together which is not compliant with Covid Guidelines and poses a risk to our customers who are from an older age group. On top of that, as a transgender employee, I am still struggling to get my name correct in our internal systems despite having worked there for 4 months. As a part-time employee, I was promised a minimum of 20 hours a week and I've been working 9 hour work weeks. These stores are not clean, I have been finding dead bugs in our makeup totes and most product we receive has something spilled on it (it's usually hair products like oils or shampoo), and finally, corporate has found a way to exploit workers by firing a loss in sales if we don't enroll people in the Carepass program. I went from asking people to join Carepass when it was necessary, but now if I don't ask every customer I have to give them free product, despite my store making our end-of-year enrollment goal in the first month. CVS is a very whitewashed company, that being said my manager just hired the first black woman in our store that I've seen in since I started working here.
