Pros
Flexibility, youll be able to take all the time off that you wish!
Cons
If it is not patio season, and you have not been there for at least 4+ years, then you are essentially unemployed. You will be called off the majority of your shifts, usually they call you off 1.5 hours before, but sometimes they will call you off when you’re on your way to work. Communication between managers is abysmal and you only receive perks at work if you are friends with the managers. There are different standards set depending on your status in the restaurant. There have also been multiple instances of my clock-in time’s being adjusted inappropriately. For example, I would clock in for 5pm-12am and my clock-in would be changed to 5pm-11pm after I left the restaurant. This would happen multiple times a week and has lead to a backlog of unpaid wages, and unfortunately it has happened to multiple servers. Managers will also frequently “cut” you when your section is full, forcing you to finish up your tables unpaid, or give them all up and leave. To be honest, I have worked at many restaurants and this was by far the worst experience. It essentially felt like I was being scammed the whole time.
