Pros

Coworkers and middle management are all great to work with. Somehow the 9/80 work schedule persists.

Cons

This company (Calspan JETS) is half of what used to be AeroSystems Engineering (with the wind tunnel half of the business being sold to Cerberus in 2024). ASE was bought by Calspan in 2020 and then Calspan was bought by Transdigm in 2023. In 2020, the small business atmosphere was replaced by corporate BS, and then in 2023 it was further degraded by now being a subsidiary of a small portion of a publicly traded conglomerate. Calspan was historically a testing services provider and seems to not care that (what is now) Calspan JETS is essentially a design firm. First Calspan rushed all of us from 100% remote to 100% in-office back in 2021; then they implemented the most ass-backwards hybrid scheduling imaginable starting in 2022; now (2024) they are forcing us back to 100% in-office instead of simply fixing the hybrid scheduling. This is being done in the name of “collaboration”, but that’s not an issue here at all!
