-lots of supervision -great training opportunity -reasonable productivity expectations -large social work trainee cohort -lovely population if you're interested in community mental health -opportunity to provide care to those who really need it

Cons

-pretty disorganized at times -inconsistent communication around policies, procedures, expectations -tension and growing pains as the psychiatry department shifts its model away from psychodynamic and trauma-focused care and moves towards short-term structured evidence-based modalities

A few decent coworkers bit the best burn out and the bullies rise to the top.

Cons

Adolescent psychiatry was an absolute nightmare. The traumatized kids ran the show as the head nurse created chaos by planting favorites and punishing anyone - kid or staff - who stood up to her abuses.
