Pros
The program gives you an opportunity to experience different divisions (usually two) and roles within an office and or plant environment. Experiencing these roles and divisions will allow you to gauge your interests and figure out what role you want to aim for upon graduation from the program.
Cons
The HR managers and coordinators in charge of the program have no clue about what is going on in the program, the lack of quality rotations, and not being able to gain the experience that was marketed to us when we were being recruited for the program. Most of your roles will involve work that is of little to no value but needs to be done. As a GRDP you will find yourself being assigned to meaningless tasks since your rotations are only for 6 months. The lack of training throughout the program and the overall experience leaves a lot to be desired. Even the Leadership Week retreat is a waste of time as you are often taking seminar courses regarding leadership and personality traits that are of little value or substance.
