Good management, in my department we are also allowed overtime regularly and most of the time it is easy going.

There are some minor parts of the culture that drive me a little crazy, mostly how people prefer to be in communal spaces, but that is just cause I have focus issues if the area is loud.

Campbell Products fill a genuine industry need. While growth is slow at times and there are challenges. There is a genuine demand for meteorological data acquisition and processing equipment. That demand returns cyclically as upgrades and new upgrades take place across decades. The work Campbell Scientific does is meaningful. Campbell provides insight into logistical, agricultural, tourism industries and many more. There are many baskets to lay eggs in. Weather/Climate monitoring has a lot of upward growth potential as global governments and scientific bodies increase instrumental coverage of the globe and expand meteorological monitoring networks. Big projects are rewarding and there are lots of small opportunities that add up. A heritage of engineering achievement and innovation. Over decades, Campbell Scientific has incrementally developed home grown solutions to a variety of industry needs. The company invests resources into innovation and developing proprietary solutions when needed. Adaptive leadership. Over the 5 years of being with Campbell I have seen the ugly, the bad and the good. I have seen senior management learn from mistakes and integrate feedback from the employees. Campbell Scientific leaders are genuinely committed to improving systems and reducing friction.

Slow growth can feel stagnant. As a general industry meteorological data acquisition operates over longer timelines. Government instability affects our job security. Most clients are either government offices or institutions which receive funding from government agencies. This leads to churn and turn over related to political activity. The company has diversified and operates internationally but the US political atmosphere has a large effect on our revenue streams and ability to sell product in the USA. Compensation tails other industries with the company offering stability more than raw earning potential. Make significant contributions and you will be rewarded.
