Pros

Able to work remote pretty much anywhere with ease. Easy to collaborate.

Cons

Awful work life balance. Work comes home often, the option to work remote means people think and act like you are available 24/7. The behavior is not corrected, management let staff walk all over everyone else and don’t help resolve conflicts. Things are thrown on you last minute. The New York City office need a serious staff and management overhaul, but other offices seem better when collaboration is needed. Project leads don’t consider the time and space of others. PTO accrual is a joke, no sick days or personal days. No annual PTO increases. Verbal harassment by colleagues barely gets addressed by management.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. This is troubling to read, but it’s important for us to hear when we’re falling short. Please know our leadership team is taking your feedback seriously. As the leader of the NYC office, my job above all else is to foster a work environment where our people flourish. If that’s not happening for any reason, I want to address these issues immediately. This is the first I’m hearing about your experience. I encourage you to reach out to me or our local HR representative so we can discuss. The details of the conversation will only be shared on a need-to-know basis, and it will give me the information I need to directly address these issues. We have a strict non-retaliation policy in place, but if you’d rather not discuss in person, you can provide more details using our anonymous ethics hotline: www.reportlineweb.com/cannondesign I won’t defend any of the behaviors you mention in your post, and I do want to say this: work/life balance and well-being are important parts of our culture, and verbal harassment is not tolerated. I’ll continue to make these commitments and expectations clear to everyone in our office. Regarding PTO, the amount depends on a few factors, including the employee level and years of service with the firm. PTO increases as these factors increase over the years. The lowest amount we offer is 15 PTO days and the highest is 30. We also have 9 paid holidays throughout the year, and several flexible work options. I hope you reach out so we can talk about these issues. I want to turn your experience around. -Rich Kahn, NYC Office Leader

Pros

Lots of corporate perks, ARE, remote work

Cons

Figure this out early. They are looking for strong corporate citizenship and follower of corporate culture. So, if you say the wrong thing around the water cooler, you will be seeing the HR soon. Be a zombie, get it right the first time and you will keep your job.
