Pros
Intercultural experience with Japanese colleagues and managers (all of them very nice). Good place to learn IP. Flexible working time and very good work/private life balance. Job security, solid company, historically almost no lay-off. Decent salary.
Cons
Golden years are probably behind, historical markets are mature (camera, printer). Missed the turn of connected objects and mobility. What's coming next? The answer is not here yet... Headquarters just don't care of what is done in oversea centers, important and challenging projects are kept in Japan. Local management incapable of initiative. Promotions given to talkers not doers, leading to demotivation amoung many skilled employees. Lack of reactivity : everything is yearly planned, no budget/project change possible in the middle of the year.
