Pros

Great health benefits, new facility, parking garage, location close to LIE.

Cons

-Employees are treated like misbehaved children. -There is a petty emphasis on swiping into the building on time -- even if you are 2 seconds late, it will be held against you even if you stay late to make up the time -- which also encourages a lot of "face time" at your desk in order to make anything count. -You must announce your bathroom breaks, lunch, meetings, leaving to communicate with a co-worker who sits a few feet away because upper management does not have enough substantial work and wants every second of your time making them look good accounted for. God forbid you had a weird lunch and are in the bathroom for 10 minutes -- management will want to know where you were. -Upper management is set in their outdated ways and will pretend to acknowledge your innovative ideas, when they really have zero intention of supporting your ideas and will instead support the people above them whom they bend over and do tricks for. -The same formula is applied to every project, task or event and barely any new ideas are used to shake things up. Despite using the same formulaic approach, upper management will somehow forget how to do it right each time. -Employees can be catty, petty and/or incestuous, so be wary of who you associate yourself with. It's like a high school. -It is an uninspiring environment that will dilute your spirit, ideas and enthusiasm where they could be valued and built upon elsewhere. -Hiring practices are somewhat based upon salary requirements, so if you ask for too much, they could reject your consideration even if you are more than qualified. -There is barely any flex time, so god forbid a friend/family member needs your attention, you better get an Academy Award worthy-story to be excused for a bit. -No morale boosting events, acknowledgements -No smoking on campus, even if you are outdoors and far from the building -Promotions based on tenure and not skill-set, which means unqualified employees will benefit and qualified ones will be looked over -No organization within departments, whether it's server content, roles, systems, etc -Cafeteria downstairs is constantly increasing prices in increments that are sometimes advertised and sometimes randomly done without notice.

Pros

Great company with advanced training opportunities and a global footprint. Taught me everything I needed to know to do my job in a clear and concise manner and also gave me the tools and references to get the work done. Always had support if I needed it on any task. Respected my time and energy. If you love technical work that people actually appreciate this is an amazing gig.

Cons

Long commutes in city traffic combined with median level pay for the job role kind of take away from the great things Canon does in other areas.

Pros

Decent starting pay, excellent experienced pay, excellent medical benefits, great culture, industry leader, best tech, best everything. If you're a quality contributor, you will get plenty of overtime.

Cons

None to really state. High volume markets will require overtime, which is a pro or con depending on your needs.
