Pros
Professional development opportunities, generous PTO, inexpensive medical benefits.
Cons
Employees quit their jobs for countless different reasons; resigning to be a stay at home parent or to go back to school are understandably challenging motives for employers to address. Fortunately, the majority of people don’t actually leave their jobs for these reasons, despite how Human Resources may finagle the exit interview responses, the truth is people leave managers – or in Canon Virginia’s case the lack thereof. It is noteworthy that Canon Virginia Inc. values professional development and provides opportunities for employees to improve their skill sets. However, more often than not, it is nearly impossible to utilize the skills, tools and information learned due to the lack of technology (network outages lasting multiple work days are embarrassingly common) and managements willingness to change is nearly nonexistent. The reasons to NOT work here are endless but should you get the pleasure to interview with this company and wonder if any of these reviews are true, simply ask for the number of people who have resigned within the Human Resources department within the past twelve months - the number is appalling.
