Pros

- Majority of co-workers are amazing - Solid introduction into the mortgage industry

Cons

- Company sells growth opportunities during interview process and these talks seem to end once you are onboard - Company is taking on a greater volume of business than the current production team can comfortably handle, which makes employee and client experience suffer. Work/life balance is very poor and you will have to work many hours of overtime to stay on track. This includes clients calling you at all times of the day. - Company targets less experienced individuals and the training component of the job is lacking. While this can be a solid pathway into the mortgage industry, be aware that you will be doing the job of someone who is compensated much better at other companies. You will also be handed a lot of business immediately, and you will be held responsible for any mistakes that happen with these loans. This is overwhelming prospect, as you will make many mistakes when you initially move into the role, and the volume of business will make it extremely difficult to adequately do your job. - Management is fairly new as well, and they are trying to prove themselves just like everyone else. Because if this, my office often had a dog-eat-dog mentality, and the production team had to answer for problems that were often out of their hands. When we came to them with issues, we were often given flimsy responses on how we could be better, and the issues in the process were never addressed. Resources were lacking and help was hard to come by. Management never really seemed to have our backs, and it seemed like we were often thrown under the bus to cover for them.

Pros

Coworkers were all friendly. Nice office

Cons

Training was mismanaged and scattered. I constantly had to nag my overworked manager about feedback. There was never any follow through from leadership on finalizing my NMLS license (I basically wasted my time studying for 8 hours a day). I was laid off… too many cooks in a 7% interest rate exonomy
