Pros

You get to work at big name banks.

Cons

Horrible experience working here. Very cut throat. You have to find your on projects on the bench. If one person says one bad thing about you your career here is killed. Not a respected consulting firm at all. I truly regret working here. It messed up my resume. They will slap you on any project as long as you’re billable.

Capco Response

We are very disappointed to read your review. We have dedicated Resourcing professionals in Capco who focus exclusively on finding suitable projects for any consultants who are ‘on the bench’ (mindful of their skills and personal development). The way we staff projects is an inclusive and interactive process, where we encourage employees to share their interests, aspirations and preferences. Everyone has visibility of all available opportunities, including skill requirements, and people are free to apply directly for those on which they want to be deployed. While we can’t always accommodate every request, we do make it a priority to try to place people in roles where they are most motivated so they can be successful. As the firm is enjoying rapid growth in advance of many of our direct competitors, it does mean that there is an ever broader range of opportunities available to our people. We encourage all project managers and coaches to share ongoing, real-time feedback on performance, so that people have the opportunity to build their capabilities, develop new skills, and grow their careers. We also have a robust performance management process where a range of stakeholders are invited to give input into an individual’s assessment to make this process fair and remove the possibility for unfair bias. We also use a roundtable process to benchmark individuals against their peers, and ensure an objective and fair evaluation. It is not acceptable in Capco for anyone to be impacted adversely for feedback from another individual without proper review from a number of other stakeholders. Therefore, I would encourage you to reach out to the relevant Resourcing Manager or your HR Business Partner to discuss your specific concerns. I am very confident that we will address them to your satisfaction, given development and optional deployment are so central to our people management in Capco.

Pros

Varied client work — Different clients and project types, which keeps things interesting. Real project mobility — You can move between projects when you advocate for yourself (within reason). Approachable leadership — Senior leaders are open to conversations if you reach out. Good development resources — Plenty of training and growth opportunities if you take advantage of them. Strong teams — Colleagues are smart, capable, and great to work with. Entrepreneurial environment — New ideas are encouraged, and there’s room to take initiative.

Cons

Long hours vary by project — Like most any professional job, some engagements require extended hours for prolonged periods, but work–life balance really depends on the client and team. Additional internal responsibilities — Depending on level, there can be a significant amount of firm‑support work outside of client delivery. Domain alignment not guaranteed — You may not always be staffed on projects that match your domain expertise. Coaching alignment constraints — Coaching relationships are tied to domain, which limits flexibility in choosing formal mentors. Long engagements (sometimes) — Some projects run for long durations or through multiple extensions. It can provides stability but may reduce variety in client and project experience depending on what you’re looking for.
