Pros

Working for a PACE program (Program of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly) is rewarding in that you have the opportunity to help older adults, who meet nursing home level of care, remain in their homes while getting the medical care they need. It's rewarding to see these participants, become like family to them, and advocate for them. The collaborative interdisciplinary approach allows you to help maintain their medical, physical, social, and emotional needs.

Cons

Our program could use more organizational structure and more employees to keep the program running strong. We are in need of employees who are passionate about working with the older adult population, many who live in urban settings. We could also benefit from having a more supportive leadership. Capital Health Systems acquired our PACE program almost 2 years ago (we used to be St. Francis LIFE). While Capital Health is committed to growing our community based program, I'm not sure they understand the challenges that we are experiencing to growth.

Pros

Benefits, some team members, classes, PTO, and understanding family needs.

Cons

No growth, it's not what you know, it's who, favoritism, lots of promises, upper management is the mean girls club, will hire family and friends before long-term workers. Promise raises and advancement, then it's not given; get blackballed into a department. They'd rather lose valuable employees than uplift. Work in a toxic environment with minimal just have to wait out the trash.
