Pros

There are no pros. I have never worked there but had such a bad experience applying as a disabled woman in STEM that I wanted to share.

Cons

I had connected with Capital One through a disability career fair. I have two psychiatric Disabilities. I got in contact with a woman named Heather asking for help in applying for a few jobs—she never got back to me. Her responses before that were also vague and unhelpful and she told me I was unqualified even though I have a B.S. in Cybersecurity and 2 disabilities—newsflash—a lot of people with psychiatric disabilities have to try much harder to get a college degree, and even acquiring that degree was a miracle for me. What the hell do they think a disability is? Just a little nuisance like a cold? Bottom line, she never got back. Even after I emailed her asking for help a second time. Essentially my disabilities made me unqualified in their eyes even though I went through living hell to get that degree. Yet Capital One has a 100% rating on the DEI. I didn’t get that experience—no friendliness, no inclusivity, and no compassion.

Pros

Well-run company that knows its values and lives them out. They hire well, and trust people to do their jobs, and people almost always do. Very tech-forward, and adopts the current tech meta quite well.

Cons

Performance management is a double edged sword. It feels intense, but I get why they do it. And helps me reflect on where Im at. Small price to pay

Pros

Environment was good, food was decent, free food at my location (dont know if it was allowed but it was good)

Cons

The rittenhouse location is managed by a tyrant, he is an incredibly toxic man and upper management make it the most unbearable place to work. Andy will ask you to come in on days you're not scheduled, and then hold it over your head if you don't. Talks about employees behind their backs constantly. No respect enforced employees talked about each other all the time and there was even name calling in meetings, management did nothing. Worst place I've ever worked in my life frankly and affected my mental health in the worst way. Glad to be out out of there. The place itself has potential but the management at the Rittenhouse branch and above them is absolutely terrible in every regard.
