Pretty good place to work at, make sure you have selling experience though - Sales Associate Capri Holdings Employee Review

Pros

After my second interview, my interviewers learned that I already had a job offer from a competitor. So what they did to retain me, is offer me $11 an hour to work for Michael Kors, starting, in sales. Michael Kors taught me about true "personal selling". I have worked in apparel and shoe stores before but all that sell themselves. Handbags are a completely different story, and I am proud my managers are motivating to learn a new trade.

Cons

You pretty much have to train yourself. The managers throw tips your way, but you are expected to know already how to sell. It's a good college job, but it's not for BEGINNERS! It's also a very exclusive company, of the 20+ active sales associates, only me and two others got the job by walking in. Everybody else knew somebody. It's understandable because of what MK wants their employees to represent, but it's a unforgiving environment for complete rookies. Also, in my store, women have a harder time than the couple of guys that work on the sales floor. It seems like a lot of the female Sales Representatives maintain a "frenemy" status between each other. And I been here for about 5 months, and I have seen at least half the female Sales Reps tell me in person to "don't trust this other girl" kind of stuff. For males that apply, remember to stay out of the drama, and keep your hands over your ears when you hear gossip. Beware of the "very personal" conversations, watch what you say.

Pros

Can’t think of a single thing. I come to work dreading my entire day knowing I have to fake my way through it

Cons

- bosses have weird traits - so much favoritism - not being liked by leadership means HR will manage you out. No questions asked - rude bosses - egos are more important than the greater goal - the good leaders have already jumped ship. We’re left with incompetent people that are here for personal success only.
