There are good things about this job, but overall a pretty toxic workplace - Sales Associate - Stylist Capri Holdings Employee Review

Pros

Pay was okay, room to advance, good discount, free wardrobe.. kind of, lots of opportunity to build a client book, achievable sales goals

Cons

There are a surplus of managers, many of whom have sales goals, meaning the managers are often competing with you, snatching your sales, rolling their eyes at you, etc. This aggressive environment lends itself towards a lot of conflict that goes unresolved. Clients are often left awkwardly standing as stylists argue with each other about them. I was once yelled at by a manager in front of a client. When sick with flu, I was literally told no one is allowed to call out sick unless you are in the hospital. You will be standing the whole shift and you aren’t really allowed to take 5 or anything like that aside from your lunch. If you go to a manager in effort to resolve conflict, you risk being accused of making excuses or being unprofessional. The *many* managers here are not there to support you. They are there to make sure money is being made. The dress code is strict and they don’t care if the wardrobe they assign you is comfortable, even though you do have to pay the tax on it. Overall, there is no work-life balance here.

-Really strong culture. People care and work hard. -Leadership is approachable and visible. You can have real conversations, and ideas are heard. -There’s meaningful exposure across brands and functions. If you want to grow, you’ll get visibility and stretch opportunities. -It’s a continuous improvement environment- not everything is perfect, but there’s an openness to evolving and doing better. -Generous employee discounts, plus access to sample sales and exclusive employee sales across the brands. -Good level of autonomy. -Good hybrid schedule.

Pros

Can’t think of a single thing. I come to work dreading my entire day knowing I have to fake my way through it

Cons

- bosses have weird traits - so much favoritism - not being liked by leadership means HR will manage you out. No questions asked - rude bosses - egos are more important than the greater goal - the good leaders have already jumped ship. We’re left with incompetent people that are here for personal success only.
