Pros

-Great way to get a foot through the door -Company trip once a year

Cons

-No advancement unless you been there for over 4 years -Low pay and extremely long hours, this job will be your life. You can try to pretend you have another life going on but carahsoft demands 45 plus hours a week out of you -Busy season 4 times year which means you'll be force to stay 3 to 4 hours longer with zero over time or any type of bonuses -They want you to dedicate all your energy to sales but get ZERO commission -The culture pretends to be professional but its basically like high school. The directors and team leads have there circle of people who've been there for 10 + years and have no interest in letting anyone get promoted to actual new positions that teaches you new skills besides just giving you extra busy work with a joke of a raise if you ever actually do get promoted which rarely happens unless you've been there for 4 plus years. -The company attire is once again a joke, they all dress like there going to class or to hang out at a lunch with there friends at college -The CEO is a complete weirdo, has extremely weird social tendencies and talks down to his employes. -The taxes here are horrible as well, everyone in the company owed over 500$ plus of tax money every year at that job and the longer you stayed the worser it was -EVERYONE is miserable there and hates working there and spews out so much negative energy about the job and their lives and then they wonder why they aren't happy -Most of the culture is very conventional in its way of thinking, theres nothing new or exciting ever happening and the CEO lies to everybody about how successful we are but then when it comes to raises and salaries it says the complete opposite about us. If we made 4 billion dollars in 2017 then that should reflect in our salaries and bonuses not in alcohol or company trips that we could actually afford on our own if you pay us the money we deserve. -If you live in the dc area this job can't even provide the basic finanical needs to provide a comfortable living, so you'll be working your butt off and not getting rewarded for it, and will still be struggling to pay your bills -The people here are just liars and fake, you have to take everything everyone says with a grain of salt because you can't trust what employees are telling you to do without having to worry about it upsetting another person because the communication through the company is unclear and inconsistent. - Stop paying everybody in alcohol and pay us in MONEY! -Some of the leads there are extremely out spoken and runs there mouths as if no one else can hear them and a lot of the stuff they say is offensive and makes other people feel uncomfortable but once again since there part of the little circle with the directors they can get away with being completely idiotic, ignorant, and thoughtless of their actions because of there friendship with the people above them. This leaves the rest of us in space of silence where we have to keep our mouths closed and then go report it to the directors but the directors can't do anything because we don't have an HR department so they just give them a little talk and then eventually it goes right back to normal. -This place is horrible

Pros

4.5 years working at Carahsoft, I’ve seen and heard it all. Work from home, too many people take this for granted. They promote within! Plenty of opportunity to move up if you work hard and deserve obviously. Work hard, be proactive, take accountability, be reliable, consistent aka do your job and you aren’t micromanaged. If the above is done, they compensate you very nicely. Craig pays 50% of health insurance (not sure if this has changed for new hires) that is unheard of and extremely helpful. Insurance is great, never had any issues. Craig cares and does so much for his employees, way more than I think some people deserve and take for granted. Team Trip, 401k match, Shoe Day, Epic Bar Tab, Reggae Fest, milestone and birthday gift cards, Trophy Bottle, snack boxes, and more.

Cons

They hire kids right out of college with zero work ethic and work experience. They don’t fire people enough, you have a handful of top performers picking up the slack for their colleagues and carrying the team. 60+% of my pay is bonus which makes tax season daunting and stressful.
