Pros

Gain sales experience Visa gift cards Open bars Trip to Jamaica Reggae Fest

Cons

No HR department "Marketing" ha. No employee handbook (no clear set rules for anything - employee dress code, defined hours, harassment behavior, scheduling appointments with management, drinking during the work day, no clear system for pay scale, etc) Obvious favoritism shown among employees Complete and total lack of professionalism Little to no company organization Terrible pay (just get rid of the perks and "interns" and pay your employees more) You will get to work in that snowstorm or die trying (you will get endless calls and reprimaded if you don't go in) Outright favoritism and excessive management of employees (to the point of harassment) but they get away with it because 1) there’s no HR department 2) everyone looks the other way which creates a dangerous and apathetic environment 3) it’s majority college grads that just need to make $ so they don’t even want to speak up 4) it’s only apparent/obvious on some teams Best way to legitimately get promoted? Create an inappropriate relationship by becoming best friends with your team lead or director. Carahsoft is synonymous with Big Brother Don’t ever expect to ever have a real conversation with management where they actually care what you have to say.

Pros

4.5 years working at Carahsoft, I’ve seen and heard it all. Work from home, too many people take this for granted. They promote within! Plenty of opportunity to move up if you work hard and deserve obviously. Work hard, be proactive, take accountability, be reliable, consistent aka do your job and you aren’t micromanaged. If the above is done, they compensate you very nicely. Craig pays 50% of health insurance (not sure if this has changed for new hires) that is unheard of and extremely helpful. Insurance is great, never had any issues. Craig cares and does so much for his employees, way more than I think some people deserve and take for granted. Team Trip, 401k match, Shoe Day, Epic Bar Tab, Reggae Fest, milestone and birthday gift cards, Trophy Bottle, snack boxes, and more.

Cons

They hire kids right out of college with zero work ethic and work experience. They don’t fire people enough, you have a handful of top performers picking up the slack for their colleagues and carrying the team. 60+% of my pay is bonus which makes tax season daunting and stressful.
