Pros
I worked on a specialized unit for several years at Carahsoft. I enjoyed my team, my customers, and my work. I was very proud to be part of something that was as ground-breaking in the industry that my unit was. I gained industry skills and knowledge that have opened up many opportunities. Working with vendors and partners alike in the ecosystem allows for invaluable networking.
Cons
Unfortunately, there will always be downsides when it comes to any company you work for. With Carahsoft, there is a discrepancy with pay. There is no clear pay model and they use non-discretionary bonuses to account for around 70% of your total yearly income. This leads to no incentive or reward to bring in new business. Carahsoft also has a “churn and burn” corporate culture when it comes to their employees. The retention rate is rather low and which leads to frequent burn out due to either lack of staff or a team that has inadequate experience that requires tenured members to pick up slack.
