If you're a job seeker, turn around. Go back to Indeed. Keep looking. You'll never find a more mismanaged company than CareerPlug. It's a 17-year-old-startup.
Product: The product is stuck in 2014 and every other ATS on the market is light years ahead of it. There's no vision or innovation from leadership. Product decisions seem to be based on the whims of the CEO (and no, he's not a product guy).
Leadership: The company can't figure out how to sell a product no one wants, so the CEO's answer is to keep hiring and firing people until he gets it right. I understand needing to restructure from time to time, but the CEO seems more negligent than most. Strategies change on a dime at CareerPlug, which means if the CEO decides to go in a new direction, roles will be eliminated to make room for it.
You might say that hiring and firing people so frequently isn’t personal, it’s only business. In that same vein, I’d say: this review isn’t personal—it’s just that I believe job seekers deserve to know the state of the company they’re considering joining. This place is quicksand.
Save yourself the headache and find another place to work—or strap in for one of the most tense, toxic work environments you've ever seen.
