Pros
The job itself is fun. Making drinks is great, and if you're a sociable person, running the register is great as well. Once you get to know some of the regulars, it becomes a blast to meet a whole community of people. I suppose that's true of any coffee shop.
Cons
Corporate is so far removed from their stores that you wonder if they even think about what they're doing. I've been at my store for a year and a half and I'm now the most senior member on the team. I've gone through 3 managers, 4 assistant managers, and countless team members. I constantly have someone that needs training. The turnover rate is insane because it's very tough to keep you're cool when corporate thinks that a surprise special is a fun idea, but they don't warn the stores, so suddenly it's super busy, only two people on the clock, and you run out of everything cause the manager couldn't order extra supplies in preparation. It's a decent job if you're content as a team member (good job while in school) and maybe as a supervisor, but don't even think about going higher up the chain, or you're in for a world of bull.
