While my 10 years on and off at Caribou brought me lifelong friends and great customer experiences - my time working with middle management and corporate was riddling with moral dilemmas, disrespect, and lack of effort to understand frontline workers. I had many one on one meetings with with my DM and DO and each one was more discouraging than the last. They are unwilling to treat their lowest level of employees with the respect they deserve. They expect you to work yourself to the bone but will then punish for getting overtime. I was forced out after reporting our DM (who had a track record for rude and unacceptable behavior in general and for the sake of financials) for requesting that me and 3 of my coworkers continue working for 5 more hours after we found out we ALL had a potential exposure to COVID-19. I refused and reported him which to my eventual non-negotiable transfer. I have since learned the HR and middle management have been lying about the situation. I no longer frequent Caribou as a customer which hearts my hart because the team that I helped build and maintain through a global pandemic was like a family to me.
