Pros

- Met some nice people - Got hands-on experience with some of the major marketing platforms (Google, FB, LinkedIn, etc.)

Cons

- Very low pay - Extremely high workload with constant crunch periods - Extremely repetitive work, felt like I was on a factory line churning the same content day in and day out - No creativity, just copy + paste to different platforms - Absolutely no diversity at this company

Pros

The people are truly kind, collaborative, and mission driven. Everyone genuinely cares about supporting higher education and helping clients succeed, and that shows up in how teams work together day to day. There are a lot of smart people here, and the culture is collaborative rather than competitive. It feels like everyone wants each other to win. There are strong opportunities to work cross functionally, learn new skills, and try new ideas. There is also real room to fail, test new approaches, and learn without fear.

Cons

The pace is very fast. The work is good and meaningful, but it can feel intense at times. I also wish compensation were higher, especially given the speed and level of responsibility.

Thank you for taking the time to share such positive feedback! It is incredibly rewarding to hear that our mission to support higher education resonates so strongly with your day-to-day work. We are very proud of our collaborative team, and knowing that you feel encouraged to cross-train, innovate, and try new approaches without fear of failure is the best compliment we could ask for. We hear your feedback regarding the fast-paced intensity of the work and compensation. We know how hard our teams work, and we are continually looking at ways to ensure our salaries remain competitive and that our workloads remain manageable during busy seasons. If you ever have specific ideas on how we can improve the day-to-day pace for your team, please feel free to share them with us at hr@carnegiehighered.com.

Pros

Amazing people who really care about you as a person and wonderful clients who appreciate your work. For a remote company, you wind up making extremely close friends and working with some of the most brilliant people you'll ever meet.

Cons

This company was once a great company that I was proud to be a part of. After new management took over a few years ago, things started to shift slowly and then drastically. The culture became incredibly fast-paced and unsustainable, with sales people selling things before a process or plan was created. It became clear that leadership was more interested in saying "yes" then thinking through the implications of what that "yes" meant. During my time, I watched all my favorite people at the company burn out and lose their light. During calls when I could connect with other teammates, "how are you" was no longer met with "good" or fine." Instead, it was often responded with "tired, but hanging in there," "exhausted," or "overstretched." This company has a huge morale issue, and its evident that new management does not seem to care about keeping talent or creating a sustainable workload. When I was working there, I became pretty normalized to this until I left. After switching companies, I realized that day-to-day exhaustion is not normal and shouldn't be tolerated. I truly grief the Carnegie I once knew, but this is no longer a place I would recommend.
