Pros
If you have no experience in digital marketing, you will be thrown into the deep end and quickly need to learn everything you can about all platforms. You won’t be able to become an expert but you’ll have enough basic knowledge to take those skills and succeed elsewhere. Great for those just out of college, with no other work experience yet.
Cons
One of the most toxic work environments I’ve ever experienced. Like other reviews have stated, the work loads are completely unrealistic—even new hires should anticipate on working 10-12 hour days, and if the first of the month is on a weekend? You’ll need to work that day too. If you bring up with your manager that your work load is too much, you will be blamed for not knowing how to manage your time or for volunteering to take on too many projects. But all project assignments are allocated out on a voluntold basis, and there’s no ability to say no. The salaries are a joke. Just because the office is located outside of the city doesn’t mean you can offer significantly less. It’s expensive to live in Massachusetts, regardless of the town or proximity to Boston. Most of the “management” are those in their mid to upper 20s who’ve been forced into a managing role, even when they’ve voiced that this isn’t something they want. The management training offered to these young employees is a joke. Most of the team lives in constant fear of being blamed for even minor things since these “managers” are continuously throwing their teammates under the bus due to their own lack of leadership skills. The amount of trashing people behind their back and gossip is incredibly unprofessional, yet the senior leadership team participates in this too so nothing will ever change. There is zero diversity here, and leaders will claim it’s something they’re working hard on, but that has been the party line for years and nothing has changed. Client and vendor partners see it and have called Carnegie out on it before. If you have more than 1-2 years of experience, don’t even waste your time applying here.
