Pros
Carter's is the leading brand for baby and children's clothing; therefore, you constantly have new customers. You are able to build relationships with customers, as they tend to be very loyal to the brand.
Cons
Carter's has been growing so fast over the past several years. Unfortunately, the support staff at corporate isn't able to keep up with the demands of the individual stores. The HR Manager is impossible to get ahold of, and you'll often never get a call back. The Loss Prevention department is almost nonexistent. They offer no assistance to the stores when they need it, which is quite often due to shoplifting. The payroll model is horrible. The workload is constantly heavy, yet there are no hours to support execution. The company promotes training and development, but sales associates barely get hours to support any development. The company starts sales associates at or just a bit above minimum wage, so attracting and retaining good talent is nearly impossible.
