Pros

The only pro is that you have a job during an economy where jobs are limited.

Cons

I worked in the IMCU for three years and the hospital truly doesn't care about the safety and wellbeing of their patients. The employees are so overworked because they don't have enough nurses or PCA's on the floor. Most of the PCAS are not surtified with the SNY and treat patients like garbage. Their is also a lot of reverse descrimination so aside from being overworked you have to deal with being treated like crap from fellow coworkers. The salary for PCA's is $14 an hour which is a joke because no one can live on such a low income unless you live in the ghetto which most of the trashy ghetto PCA's do live. Worst job ever! If you want to make a difference and make good money just go for your nursing and forget being a PCA.

Pros

Loyal, tenured staff. Busy level I trauma hospital.

Cons

Leadership had no vision and was very resistant to change. There was a culture of blame instead of getting to the root cause of issues.
