Pros

You generally work with good people. The nursing care is excellent. Most units accommodate self-scheduling (to a certain degree).

Cons

- There is little support for staff from management. - The hospital prioritizes patient satisfaction over staff safety. - There is more of an emphasis on having the patient and families feel like they are receiving a "hotel experience," than concentrating on actual medical issues. - The response to staff burnout and a higher incidence of sick calls is adding more work onto staff, mandating additional shifts, and making it more difficult to use your time. - Management plays favorites - They mislead you when offering incentives i.e. loan forgiveness and your eligibility period

Pros

Loyal, tenured staff. Busy level I trauma hospital.

Cons

Leadership had no vision and was very resistant to change. There was a culture of blame instead of getting to the root cause of issues.
