Pros

Co-workers are great. They're incredibly helpful. There is definitely good communication between the servers and everyone else in the restaurant. Also the benefits offered are pretty good. The food is definitely worth the price and employees are given discounts on meals.

Cons

Oh, where do I even begin? There is WAY too much sidework. Also I don't agree with how openers are also closers. Yes, they get the restaurant ready to open, but I don't entirely understand why the company feels it necessary to do that. The POS system they use could use a bit of work. I don't understand why the system doesn't allow for an automatic swipe of the card without preauthorizing some crazy amount on top of the bill. Now onto management... The GM is the literal definition of a dictator, unless he likes you, then he's your best bud and you can do no wrong. He micromanages everything, even down to how much skin is left on the ends of the lemons. And I swear I heard everyone tell me everything you could do wrong was his biggest pet peeve. The female manager told me during orientation that the GM looks for ways to get people in trouble. He definitely enjoys berating those he doesn't like. He badgers his targets with questions, then when the target responds, he dismisses the answers and begins to castigate whomever he is displeased with. When given an answer he feels is wrong, he becomes condescending. He has high expectations of his staff, which isn't a bad thing at all. However he doesn't understand how to give constructive feedback or coach and instead resorts to insults and intimidation tactics in an effort to scare his employees into falling in line. The other manager who is a bit young to be a manager is insanely immature. He play fights with other employees, sometimes getting a bit out of hand. He uses curse words frequently with subordinates when talking about his day or something that happened. He gets too involved in the personal lives of his subordinates and seems to view them more as friends. He also "doesn't like to get his hands dirty" meaning if there's a chance it might ruin his shirt, don't count on him to help. The female manager is aggressive. She has a tendency to become combative when someone makes a mistake. She, as well as the other two, definitely has her favorites and makes it obvious.

Pros

Had good success working here. Tips are decent for such a small town. Managers seemed to take my concerns seriously.

Cons

Pettiness among staff members. Managers definitely had their “favorites”. Favorites got primo shifts.
