Pros

It started off as a fantastic work environment, fast paced but very team oriented. The learning was non-stop, there are courses that you can take online provided by the company through what was called Cbeyond University. Also, there were many advancement opportunities, and the commissions were uncapped.

Cons

The products don't work that well. Some of the very basic services worked ok, but any of the technologically advanced services were poorly supported. In the Spring of 2014, Cbeyond was acquired by a company called Birch Communications and backwoods rinky-dink outfit hell bent on destroying everything good that Cbeyond founder Jim Geiger created. Birch's primary means of sales are from POTs lines, the most basic of basic phone lines (POTs stands for Plain Old Telephone, like pay phones and elevator alarms) and have no interest in "Solutions" for customers. They also are very cheap, "nickel and diming" customers with things like overages on long distance, and having too many emails in your inbox They are slowly but surely driving out all the employees that have high salaries, even going so far as to refer to employees as "Cost Centers".

Pros

It wouldn't allow me to put my actual last year (2012) but during my 2 year employment, I made great money. I made president's club both years and regular saw 7K checks with some topping 10K. I used to win nice watches, luxury sunglasses, skydiving trips, box seats at Lakers games, box seating at really cool concerts, etc.

Cons

LONG hours...I would arrive at 7am for the morning meeting. we would then have team meeting at 8am and we would hit the road at 9am. We wouldn't get back until 5:30-6:00pm BUT nobody complained because we were paid for it. Nobody cared what gas prices were because we were more than compensated (I forgot to mention Dom, the big boss, would but gas cards and hand those out just because you had a nice suit on. Dude was such a good leader....eveyone wanted to do good for Dom. Why? I/ couldn't explain it...ther than he knew how to lead and that involves getting people to buy into your plan. We did. And Dom had that division leading the company each and every month. Two of the best years of my career and it happened in the very beginning. I will always miss my time here. what a con. lol. it was a great job
