Pros

They will hire anyone willing to start as an entry level outside sales rep. The product lineup is updated often enough to stay ahead of the competition. Cbeyond has a culture of promotion from within. Cbeyond runs a lot of contests to keep the reps motivated to sell.

Cons

Turnover is about 100% month to month. They hire an average of 12 new reps every month and on average, about 12 sales reps leave the company each month. Gas allowance is about $150 to $200 per month for driving about 2000+ miles each month. Reps are hyper-micro managed in all aspects of the job and are expected to work 7:30am until 7pm. Employee morale is VERY LOW - probably the lowest I've ever seen in any job I've ever worked. Management is very unprofessional. Yelling, horseplay, etc. are all commonplace in management meetings, during telemarketing time, etc.

Pros

It wouldn't allow me to put my actual last year (2012) but during my 2 year employment, I made great money. I made president's club both years and regular saw 7K checks with some topping 10K. I used to win nice watches, luxury sunglasses, skydiving trips, box seats at Lakers games, box seating at really cool concerts, etc.

Cons

LONG hours...I would arrive at 7am for the morning meeting. we would then have team meeting at 8am and we would hit the road at 9am. We wouldn't get back until 5:30-6:00pm BUT nobody complained because we were paid for it. Nobody cared what gas prices were because we were more than compensated (I forgot to mention Dom, the big boss, would but gas cards and hand those out just because you had a nice suit on. Dude was such a good leader....eveyone wanted to do good for Dom. Why? I/ couldn't explain it...ther than he knew how to lead and that involves getting people to buy into your plan. We did. And Dom had that division leading the company each and every month. Two of the best years of my career and it happened in the very beginning. I will always miss my time here. what a con. lol. it was a great job
