Pros

Benefits are slightly above average.

Cons

In my particular chain of command, my managers, up through the CIO level play favorites, and respond to brown nosing, and the appearance of working hard, which results in an environment of two-faced, back-stabbing, self-promoting, immoral behavior. Some employees got the projects and training they wanted, while others, including myself, were not given any growth opportunities. Instead of management making the effort to talk with employees with an open mind and understanding their situations, they instead relied on hearsay from their pet employees, who only served to make themselves look good by making others look bad. I, and others on my team, refused to kiss up to management, and we were penalized by them making our work life miserable. Co-workers told me that they heard management actually say things to the extent that they were intentionally punishing us. This is childish, selfish behavior, stemming right from upper management. Most of my team, including myself, as experienced and talented as we are, eventually quit in frustration.

Pros

Cedars Sinai benefits were worth the low pay for academic research if you care about insurance and 401k/403b benefits.

Cons

The location was very hard to get to due to traffic. I also was not happy with the low pay for the education and experience I had when I started there.
