Pros
Excellent educational and career development opportunities
Cons
An old fashioned top heavy management structure that squeezes RNs/ CPs dry. Constantly 'out of ratio' as barely ever break relief, but you are told to tell Jaco that you do have break relief if they ever visit. Stressful environment where nurses are micromanaged and quite frankly bled dry. Hard to advocate for nursing profession here - they basically threw out the nurses decision to unionize in 2007 (taking it to court twice). This is a great place to learn and then get out before you prematurely age and look like you are 50 years old when in fact you are 30. You will feel as if you have been hit by a mack truck at the end of every day, which leaves you feeling that management do not care about their RNs/ CPs at all, only the bottom line. On the other hand, patients and doctors are treated like Gods (ironically, the more evil the patient, the better they are treated).
