Pros
Good 401k match, if they buy your plant you will keep your years of service. Easy to get a job, if you are related to or are friends with anyone in management you WILL be protected at all costs. If you fail as a supervisor candidate you will be rewarded with a cushy salary job making 100k+ a year
Cons
The insurance is a "catastrophic plan" the deductible is 5-7k depending on whether you have the single or family plan, there is a $60 per pay period surcharge if you aren't vaccinated, if you use tobacco there is a $50 per pay period surcharge, if your spouse works and is offered insurance there is a $50 per pay period surcharge to keep them on your plan. Promotions are given based on nepotism and friendship only. Your safety will be audited based on "gets easily frustrated by tasks or interactions with others" "has a history of near misses" "shows signs of distraction" "demonstrates inconsistent day to day behavior". Management was given 10k-20k raises and hourly plant employees got nothing, we were told "you guys already make too much money".
