Pros
Pay is good. Benefits are decent. For the right people, exposure to sr. management can be very high, along with the opportunity for advancement. If you get the right manager, respect for family commitments can be high.
Cons
Primary tools for motivation appear to greed and fear. Talented people are paid well, but at the expense of always having to worry about losing their job if things don't work out. Culture is built around individual achievement rather than team achievement.
