Pros

The Sales Representative position is a very dynamic and lucrative career. Beautiful and modern locations, the most powerful cellular network in Verizon to represent, the highest end devices and accessories, and a company that stands behind its entire workforce. There are very few careers where an entry level sales representative can earn as much as they want: there is NO cap on commissions. As a new representative you have a fantastic training program, a hierarchal career path, and an excellent commission structure to begin significantly changing your lifestyle. After 2 years as a top producer I earned the Area Sales Manager position guiding and leading a large sales team and managing several locations in our market. I also helped and watched the sales training program grow which is top notch and constantly being updated due to changes in the industry. In addition, the training also transferable to almost any sales industry. The trainers are seasoned and successful current representatives as the leadership team also works along side WITH the reps simultaneously working for the reps helping at almost any time or incident. Amazing opportunity if you enjoy a dynamic and technology based workplace. I worked in the home market of Knoxville and I thoroughly loved my career with Cellular Sales which lasted one month shy of 6 years. I left because one of my business clients loved the way I worked with his employees and made me an offer I could not refuse as I was not seeking a new position outside Cellular Sales (it took a great deal to get me to leave and my coworkers and leadership team have supported me from the second I told the company at a market wide meeting. I would still be very happy there if this was not another positive step toward my lifetime goals.

Cons

Sometimes a "distant" location needs staffing (sometimes up to an hour drive) but why would a commissioned rep not want to go to where the money is? Upset customers and retail hours are typical responses as cons, but if you know that coming on board, it makes little difference and weekends are busy periods. Any company has negatives but those are few and far between and if the rep is thorough and does not buy into anything negative, there will be only a few insignificant cons in this position.
