Pros

You have a flexible schedule They pay high commission rates There is no cap on commissions Offers a bi weekly draw

Cons

Let me preface this by saying I was with this company for 7 years, and loved the job until last year when they changed the company entirely. I was top 20 my whole career until before I left. Leaderboard is often manipulated by "high performers" so they can get a better schedule You don't get paid for bill pays, customer service, general questions, exchanges, or anything that doesn't involve a sale. This causes the employees to cherry pick customers, and since most stores are slow and over staffed, you end up working for free most days. Upper management does not care about you even if they swear they do during training. If you make them money they praise you, but don't take a vacation because then youre dead to them. If you are a high performer they praise you, but if your performance drops at all they immediately turn their backs on you. They fill the stores with so many employees that you make nothing on every phone you sell. You need to lie to customers and sell LG in order to make a halfway decent oaycheck. The high performers are usually the shadiest people who will steal sales from you The customer service and Google rankings are manipulated. If you get a complaint on Google or a survey, you have to call and beg the customer to change it or you get in trouble. The funny part is that the surveys are about Verizon, not you, so if Verizon scores bad you take the heat. There is no development of employees. Once you get through the training program it's up to you to make or break it. It's 100% commission so no one wants to take the time to teach you because they lose money while they are doing that. And if you don't catch on quickly you will go to a "training" where they praise the guys cherry picking the door and stealing sales because.... They make more sales... So they just continue to punish you for not being shady. "Store leaders" are a joke and help no one but themselves. You may find one that is helpful but usually if it doesn't benefit them then they don't care. "district leaders" have no sense of management and micro manage your life. They also lie about your goals by adjusting them to fit the needs of whoever is kissing their butt that month. They are rarely available to answer questions and if you do run into an issue they call you an idiot. Career? No. There are "store leaders" which is a joke. Most step down or quit because the position is more work with less pay. If you stay here expect to he a sales person the entire time. Ask the few remaining reps that have been here past 3 years. Pretty sure most tenured reps bailed out this past year when the company turned upside down on itself. Customers will call non stop with issues that end up losing you money. The back office people yell at you, demean you, lose your items (which you then pay for) and constantly talk down to you. I had a family member die and when I asked for extra time to get paperwork done, so I would be able to work when I got back, I was told in more words than you 1.... No. If you don't understand your paycheck they will call you an idiot, even though my accountant took a week to figure mine out. It's like looking at a computer program broken down into binary code that somehow never equals what the leaderboard shows. If you make a sale, do everything correctly, and the system has an error that causes the agreement to not attach to an account correctly you may have the retail value of the phone deducted from your paycheck (average of $650) If you do a return on a phone (doesn't matter if you sold it) and there is any minor scratches or damage that you overlook then they can charge you for the device. I could go on but I think you get the picture. This is a glorified pyrimid scheme that has verizons logo on it. Even the Verizon customer care tells customers not to come to these locations.
