100% commission. No PTO, vacation time etc. If you take time off it is your responsibility to find other reps to cover your shifts. Good luck asking a manager to help cover in most cases.
Your biggest competition is Verizon, the company you represent. Weird, right? Online-only deals, $20 activation fee vs. $40 in-store. the list goes on and on.
Management culture is very clicky. This varies market to market. You have to know "how to play the game" if you want to be successful.
Company's response to COVID-19 pandemic was laughable and mediocre at best. When Corporate Verizon reduced store hours, and even closed most doors, Cellular Sales look to take advantage of this opportunity... during a pandemic. Communication was put out to "Take advantage of corporate's reduced hours and the uptick in store traffic"... during a pandemic. Cellular Sales (varies market to market) takes a reactionary approach rather than a proactive approach to most situations.
There is no "policies and procedures" book. Nothing written down. Disputes between reps or trying to understand how things are actually done is frustrating because there is no guide to reference.
(Varies market to market) Some cities/markets have GMs/STLs who are wonderful and supportive. Some cities/markets have GMs/STLs who are bullies and are aggressively defensive when sales reps voice concerns or have issues.
Gray-area sales tactics are encouraged. Not too shady, and not too honest, but right in the middle... as long as you are hitting and exceeding sales KPIs.
