Pros

Presumably paid well. No superiors breathing down your neck.

Cons

Many get fired as their training concludes because they'd rather use trainees for grunt work than tell them they don't see them as 'fitting their work environment.' Ergo, not an aggressive enough salesperson. Superiors don't breathe down your neck, but your coworkers do, as they expect a certain amount of community-policing. Hours during holidays suck, as my location was in a mall.
