Pros
The center teams get to know the participants (patients) very well and have a true commitment to helping them live independently with quality of life. The planning for each participant is done by an interdisciplinary team with lots of input from the participant and the family -- there's a strong feeling of community . This is a great job if you thrive on team work and are committed to providing good care for elders in the community. If you are interested in working here I suggest calling HR and asking for a tour.. It's a unique program and it's helpful to visit to understand how it works. Also google PACE programs. You will quickly understand the uniqueness of the program. I'm relatively new here but my team is very supportive and incredibly patient centered so I look forward to coming to work every day.
Cons
This would not be a great place for someone who doesn't enjoy working on a team. Care planning is an interactive process here and includes everyone. It's a disciplined process but to those who favor working independently, it may be a challenge.
