A Great Job with a Rewarding Outcome - Service Coordinator Center for Human Services Employee Review

Pros

Pay is one of the highest in our field. The company is always looking for the most affordable health coverage for its employees and family. I love that even if I don't include my husband and child on my medical insurance, I can still cover them on dental, vision, and life insurance. There is a great teamwork and support within our office. If someone isn't sure about a process, there is always someone in the office who is able to assist. Getting to work with some amazing families while providing autonomy and advocacy and putting services in place for one of the most vulnerable demographics is extremely rewarding. Working remotely is also a HUGE perk which allows for great flexibility in our schedules.

Cons

There is a LOT of paperwork with deadlines so to do this job an individual must be very discipled, organized, and have great time management skills. It seems that annually the state (DMH) is changing the forms that we use for various reports and requests. Not always begin able to fulfill the need of your consumer or family due to a lack of resources or eligibility.

Pros

Competitive pay, rewarding supports provided daily, available learning opportunities if you seek them out, good benefits, built on a meaningful mission statement and core values, community based, networking opportunities

Cons

Poor leadership, the culture is misrepresented, does not stand on or behind their own mission statement or core values, growing a poor reputation within their home community as they exponentially expand across the state, misunderstand autonomy, micromanagement resulting in decreased quality of services able to be provided, unwilling to reasonably provide accommodations, no work-life balance respected
